Chopper For Sale

Hey everyone. Here's a public service announcement (with guitars.) Andy is starting to sell off the fleet and has recently listed his 1969 Shovelhead in pan frame on ebay. Very cool chopper. Check with Wes at Four Aces Cycle Supply. I think he still has a link to his auctions. Just go to the Four Aces web site to check it out.

Reach for the sky!

Now I know this again is a little later of a time frame, but I appreciate early choppers. This bike was bike around 1959/60 and check out those risers! Wow.

Desert Racers.

This is at the starting line of a So Cal desert race. It's the late 1950's. Could be Big Bear or Greenhorn Enduro. What ever it is, it's cool.

El Diablo Run

For those of you that went on the El Diablo Run, welcome back. I'm glad you made it home safely. From my inside sources, I understand it was like a 60's biker B movie on speed. You all partied like pirates. Nice.

Trophys for go...not show

A little tuckin' practice

Greenhorn Enduro Race Course

It humbles me to just look at this map. Imagine doing this ride off road on a rigid frame bike. Maybe you have a swingarm, but compare it to what's out there today. This was done on a street bike, not a purpose built off road dirt bike. These riders were tough.

Sorry

I would like to apologize for my "slow down" on posting. Unfortunately my paying job has been quite busy lately and kept me away from the computer. I'm still out here and I'll get more pics posted as I can.

Pieces, parts

I know this is a blog and not a forum, but maybe we can all help each other out. If you love this era of bikes then I'm sure you need parts for your projects. So if you need something respond to this post and I'll put it out there and maybe we can hook people up for trades, sales etc. I'll start. I need a set of 1" bar for a Triumph with the 15/16" turned down throttle. Flanders style bend, but doesn't have to be Flanders.

Thanks,
Flathead Jedd

What's next?

Folks have been asking "what's next?" Well, I don't know. We want to put together another ride soon, but unfortunately my bike's down. Actually three of my bikes are down. So I don't feel much like planning a ride, but I assure you we'll get something together. I kind of want to get a regular once a month ride together, but I'm still working on the details. We've also been talking about putting together a little swap meet. You know to keep the cool parts in "the family." There's some good events coming up now that it's "motorcycle season." On June 28th the Vintage Outlaw Races are back to Seaside Park in Ventura. This is my favorite event of the year and thanks to the Parkers (and others) it's back! Vintage dirt track baby! Chopper Dave and I raced it a few years ago and it kicks ass. Check out the site and go. You won't be disappointed.

Could you even imagine someone doing this on their 2007 Harley Twin Cam? There were no dirt bikes, no enduro bikes, no street bikes. There was only one bike and you used it for everything. If you broke it, you fixed it. These guys were hard core. Not candy asses.
