Happy Kid on Panhead

Trailer Queen

I guess the concept of trailering your bike isn't new. It's not even a race bike!

Harley Mill Poll Results

Well the poll is just about over. It looks as though the Knucklehead is going to be the big winner. So let's try again. How about a little brand loyalty? Check out the new poll.

The New Bonneville Shirts

As promised the new Four Aces Bonneville Support shirts are in! Show your support for Wes, Chris, Chuck and Chris and buy a shirt. Contact Wes at Four Aces Cycle Supply to get yours before they are all gone.

A little BTSV action..That's Big Twin Side Valve for those of you that don't speak Flathead.

We have a winner!

From what the emails have told me the "Fonz" is Lauerne Hahon of the Top Hatters MC. This appears to be the same guy receiving his trophy from what I can only imagine is a Top Hatter. The bike looks like an Ariel. Any thoughts? I'm digging the risers and bars and the checkered paint job.

Thanks Brent for sharing family photos. Old pictures are the coolest. Even cooler when it's your family.

A Classic

I usually stay away from this era of biking. It just tends to get some people "upset." I have a pretty decent collection of photos from this era, but I never want to step on toes. That being said I just can't resist this classic image.

Floyd Emde

This picture is of Floyd Emde after winning the 1948 Daytona Race. A version of this sweater is now available from NLAMC. Wes and I had the honor of reproducing this jersey for the family to go on static display with Floyd's race winning bike. I know this is a shameless plug for the NLAMC, but a guy's gotta make a living.

Another Seattle Jolly Rogers MC pic

Speaking of 8

The Great 8

Thanks to all of you that went on the ride. It was fun and everyone made it. No break downs this time. Wes, Jeff, Brent, Paul, Kit, Eli and Hokan you rock. Hokan, you ride further to ride with us then the ride itself and we appreciate it. A special thanks goes out to Eli for his "green" riding style. Coasting down the whole backside of Angeles Crest is very eco-friendly. We will let you know when we ride next. Hope you all can be there!

BTSV Gal

The Results are in.

We'll based on the last poll, straddling the bike to kick it won by a small margin. I'm glad there were no votes for the electric foot. If you prefer an electric start, you are on the wrong blog site. I like this survey thing so let do another. As for Harley motors, let's hear what ya like.

T-Shirts for Sale!

Because Wes is way too modest to post this himself, I'll do it for him. The new Four Aces Bonneville shirts will be in next week and will be on sale. The money from the sales goes to fund the Bonneville effort, so it's a worthy cause. The past years shirt have been very cool and are quite collectible. So contact Wes at Four Aces and support the cause! Get a sneak peak at the art work on the Saul T Nutz site.

We Ride!

It's official, we ride on Saturday. The Wing Nuts are meeting at 8:30 on Saturday at Four Aces Cycle Supply and departing on a ride at 9:00. We are just going for a cruise. Maybe around town. Maybe not. We'd love for you to come and ride with us. No chase vehicle will be provided and we will try to keep it under 100 miles this time. Hope to see you there!

The Triumphant Return of the 38U

So after months of my bike being down for another full motor rebuild and then having it back for a day and having all my wiring go up in smoke. I got mad at it and decided to tear it apart and go with something alittle bit different. So now my 1938U flathead is back on the road with a totally different style.

PS sorry for the large file size click on the pics to see them fully

Sweet Flattie!

this is Lilia Ayers from Terra Haute, Indiana!
Lots of neat stuff on this bike as well, the half rim covers, cheese graters, too cool!

Where is this bike, Wingnuts?

thanx to Jeff Hiatt for the pic!

Yellow Jacket Bob McMillen

This picture come from our friend Bob McMillen a Yellow Jacket from way back when. He is mounted on his 1936 VLH in full race garb. This photo was taken circa 1948 in Wilmington, CA on the site of the current Harbor College. Bob you are one of my heroes.

Schaller Cams

I'm trying to get some information together on Schaller Cams and on Harold "Bus" Schaller or on Erwin Lee the rider of the bike. I've been to their web site and the info is limited. Dr Sproket don't let me down.

Ted Evans Decal

This is my attempt to recreate a Ted Evans decal. It's the best I can do with what i got. If anyone has this decal and can scan it for me it would be greatly appreciated.

Knuck with low Speedster bars

Garbage Wagon

Now this is the exact opposite of a bob job, but I've always had a special place in my heart for these Coney Island Parade Floats. Seems to be an east coast thing. A common trend with old cars as well. East coast, add on stuff. West coast, take it off. This is a historical observation not a modern phenomenon.

Griff's Knuckle Bobber

Griff sent us this pics of his Flathead Power Knuckle. Beautiful bike. Griff I think I've posted your bike before, but it's well worth a second look.

Kick it baby!

This bring up an old debate. What is the right way to kick start a bike? (If you do know what kick starting a bike is you may be on the wrong site.) Side mount or Straddle? Which is correct? I side mount, what do you do? This is an informal WNMC survey. It's all in the name of science, so leave your vote.

This is Gaby..most likely around 1956
